The cost of the title insurance policy is based on the sales price; the minimum rate established by the State of Florida is called “Promulgated Rate”. There are other fees in your Florida title insurance quote that should be considered, including: Settlement/Closing Fee, Title Search Fee, Lien Search Fees, and Government Charges.
Below is a description of the promulgated rates for Florida title insurance.
From $0 to $100,000 of liability written $5.75 – per thousand
From $100,000 to $1 million, add $5.00 – per thousand
Over $1 million to and up to $5 million, add $2.50 – per thousand
Over $5 million and up to $10 million, add $2.25 – per thousand
Over $10 million, add $2.00 – per thousand
MINIMUM PREMIUM $100

Homestead Exemption
If you plan to occupy your home as a primary residence, you may be eligible to file for Homestead Exemption. This exemption will entitle you to a $50,000 reduction of your county assessment, and cap the subsequent yearly increases of your property tax bill. You must take title to your property before December 31 of the prior year and file by March 1 of the exemption year. Visit our links page for additional homestead filing information.
